About The Artist

Born in the South and raised in the Northwest, Laura Johnson has taken her environment and turned it into art. A beachcomber at heart, she finds sea glass, shells, and driftwood to use as the foundation of her pieces, while integrating metals and natural fibers to enhance their original beauty. As she learns new techniques, she has added silversmithing and enameling to her jewelry line.

She has studied art in college and throughout her life, worked for various craft vendors and artists, and was inspired by her Mother, who is an artisan at Pike Place Market in Seattle. You can find her at various craft shows throughout the year, mainly in the Tacoma-Seattle area, and also vending at Pike Place Market in partnership with her mother.

SHIPPING, RETURNS, AND OTHER LEGAL INFORMATION

SHIPPING INFORMATION

COVID-19 NOTICE: Please note that fulfillment and shipping times may take longer than usual due to extra measures and precautions taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19. I am currently working remotely from home, so any pieces made to order may take up to 10 days to ship due to current operations. If you need your order to arrive by a specific date, please leave a note at check out or reach out to me directly so that I can do my best to accommodate your request. I appreciate your patience and thank you immensely for your support. 

FULFILLMENT

Handled with care - allow 5 business days for fulfillment
Each order is packaged with care by the artist in my small home studio. While some items are in stock and ready to ship, some of the items are made to order. Please allow up to 5 business days for fulfillment. Once an order leaves my hands I will notify the customer with the tracking number for the shipment. If you would like to have your order arrive by a specific date, please reach out so that I can do my best to accommodate you. You may do this by leaving a note at check out, or by e-mailing me at info@lojodesign.com. I will do my best and will inform you if I have trouble meeting your request. 
 

DOMESTIC SHIPPING

All orders addressed to domestic destinations will ship with United States Postal Service (USPS). At checkout, you may select from one of three options: First Class Mail (standard shipping), Priority Mail (1-3 business days), or Priority Mail Express (overnight). Customers will be notified when their orders ship and will receive a tracking number for their order. Please note that these shipping estimates do NOT include the time required for fulfillment. If you need your order rushed, please get in touch at info@lojodesign.com to see if I can accommodate your request. 

I advise that you have your packages shipped to a safe and secure address. Lojo Design is not responsible for lost packages that have been marked delivered by the carrier. I will, however, do my best to address any damaged or delayed package issues with the carrier on your behalf. 


INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

All orders addressed to international destinations will ship with USPS, or with FedEx upon request. At checkout, you may select from one of three options: First Class Mail International (standard shipping). Priority Mail International (6-10 business days), Priority Mail Express International (3-5 business days). Customers will be notified when their orders ship and will receive a tracking number for their order. Please note that these shipping estimates do NOT include the time required for fulfillment. If you need your order by a specific date, please get in touch with me at info@lojodesign.com so I can advise you on the best shipping method. While I can provide estimates for shipping times, I cannot guarantee the date of delivery due to the customs process.

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES
MY POLICY
 
Lojo Design sales are final. I do not accept returns or offer refunds. I may offer exchanges under limited circumstances. If an item is damaged as a result of quality or craftsmanship, customers must e-mail their concern within 14 days of receiving items for an exchange. Items mailed back for exchange must be unworn, undamaged, and in their original packaging. Lojo Design reserves the right to refuse any exchange where the product returned is not in its original condition. The customer is responsible for all shipping
charges.

If you’re reading this, it’s most likely because you might want to return an item you are currently looking to purchase, or that you recently purchased. Your reason for considering a return may be one of a number of reasons. Please let me help answer or resolve any concern that you may have so that you can feel good about your order. I encourage you to e-mail me (info@lojodesign.com) if you have any questions, I'm good at solving problems so let me assist you through any challenge you’re experiencing that is a result of shopping with me online.
 
Below I’ve outlined a few scenarios that might prompt interest in a return and offer recommendations on how to avoid the problem in the first place and how I handle the problem if it’s already a reality.
 
 
Oh no, I ordered the wrong size!
If you’ve never shopped with me in person, you probably don’t know what size ring, bracelet, chain, etc. will fit you best. I have included a brief paragraph on each product page to help you figure out what size the items are. But what if you didn’t see this and ordered the wrong size, or maybe you ordered the item for someone else and just got it wrong. In such case, I am happy to provide you with an exchange for a different size. Please e-mail me and I’ll take care of you.
 
Oh no, I don’t like the color of the piece I selected.
I recommend thinking ahead about how you would style this piece of jewelry and which color best suits the way you envision wearing this piece. I take close up photos of my products and do my best to portray the colors of my jewelry as accurately as possible, to avoid any surprises when you open up your shipment. If you know what color you want and like what you see online, you should be able to avoid this problem. I understand, however, that you may just have a change of heart and decide that instead of going with a bold color you’d prefer something more neutral. Or maybe you purchased a gift for your girlfriend and she would prefer a different color. I know that color is a particular thing so I can offer a one-time exchange for that particular item. Please e-mail me to see what colors I can offer as an exchange.
 
Oh no, I just purchased this item and it just broke!
If your recently purchased jewelry from me happens to break on you, please e-mail me! While I believe all jewelry should be handled with care, my jewelry should not just fall apart on you. These pieces are delicate in appearance but are all handmade products that can withstand regular wear. My jewelry will not withstand abuse and I will not take responsibility for jewelry damaged as a result of rough handling. Either way, if you experience an issue with one of my pieces, e-mail me so I can replace the item or provide options for repairing your jewelry.
 
Oh, I’m just not that into it.
Please consider your purchase carefully. I put a lot of effort into providing product details and images of my jewelry so that you can make an informed decision before placing your order. I do not accept returns and I do not accommodate exchanges for different products. To understand why this is my policy, keep reading.
 
 BOTTOM LINE:

You’re probably happy to know that I can offer exchanges under certain circumstances but still disappointed that I don’t offer any returns. Let me explain why. I am a small business, a very small business that makes many of my products to order. I typically don’t make a product until someone orders it. When you place an order, I'm making it specifically for you. Each time that I accommodate an exchange, I am taking the time to make another product for you. I have made the decision to limit exchanges and I choose not to accept returns because it is simply not cost effective for my small operation. My time is limited, and I handle all aspects of the business myself. To keep up with orders and to still set aside enough time needed to maintain my business, work on new collections, and directions for my brand this is the only feasible choice.
 
I believe deeply in the quality of my products and know that my products are better in real life than they appear online. If you’re reluctant to purchase something that you have yet to see in person, I think it’s safe to say that if you’re drawn to it online then you will not be disappointed when you received the product in the mail.

When you purchase something from my store, as part of the buying and
selling process, I collect the personal information you give me, such as your
name, address and email address. Your information is never sold and is
exclusively shared with trusted third-party platforms, including Square,
Weebly, and iPage. Weebly/Square my ecommerce platform and Square
manages my payment transactions. 
 
Email marketing: With your permission, I may send you emails about my
store, new products and other updates.
 
SECTION 2 - CONSENT
 
How do you get my consent?
When you provide me with personal information to complete a
transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or
return a purchase, I imply that you consent to my collecting it and using it
for that specific reason only.
 
If I ask for your personal information for a secondary reason,
like marketing, I will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or
provide you with an opportunity to say no.
 
How do I withdraw my consent?
If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your

I may disclose your personal information if I am required by law

SECTION 4 - SQUARE UP
 
My store is hosted on Square.Site. They provide me with the
online e-commerce platform that allows me to sell my products and services to
you. Your data is stored through Square Up's data storage, databases and the
general Square Up application. They store your data on a secure server behind a
firewall.
 
Payment:
If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your
purchase, then Square Up stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through
the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase
transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your
purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction
information is deleted.
 
All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by
PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint
effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
 
PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit
card information by my store and its service providers.

SECTION 5 - THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

policies in respect to the information I am required to provide to them for your
purchase-related transactions.
 
For these providers, I recommend that you read their privacy

or me. So, if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the

My store uses Google Analytics to help me learn about who visits

To protect your personal information, I take reasonable
precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not
inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.
 
If you provide me with your credit card information, the
information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored
with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet
or electronic storage is 100% secure, I follow all PCI-DSS requirements and
implement additional generally accepted industry standards.
 
SECTION 7 - COOKIES
 
Here is a list of cookies that I use. I’ve listed them here so
you that you can choose if you want to opt-out of cookies or not.
 
_session_id, unique token, sessional, Allows Square Up to store
information about your session (referrer, landing page, etc).
 
cart, unique token, persistent for 2 weeks, Stores information
about the contents of your cart.
_secure_session_id, unique token, sessional
 
PREF, persistent for a very short period, Set by Google and
tracks who visits the store and from where.
 
 
SECTION 8 - AGE OF CONSENT
 
By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age
of majority in your state or province of residence, or that you are the age of
majority in your state or province of residence and you have given me your
consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site.
