Made from 1 1/2 inch thick solid tigerwood, these boards are heavy and substantial. Large Version: 9" x 22" - 6 lbs Smaller Version: 10" x 17" - 5 lbs The handles of the boards are charred to a black finish, a technique sometimes used in Japanese construction to weatherproof, called Shou-Sugi-Ban. The boards are finished with a Walrus Oil, a natural cutting board oil used to preserve and protect the wood, and is food-safe. Mineral oils can be re-applied to the board to bring the color and grain back to life after long use.
