About this Product
This is a 1" x 1" pendant: Stained glass mosaic inlaid on an antique copper tray. The glass used is a combination of irid, opalescent and VanGogh glass in neutral tones, but with striking shimmer and sparkle. Each pendant is one-of-a-kind, made of glass scraps from my commission work.

Meet the Maker
I've been making art my entire life, but when I discovered mosaic in 2001, I was hooked. There is something about using broken and cut pieces to create something whole and beautiful that is cathartic, meditative and healing. Also, mosaic is so functional, I love that I can make wall murals, backsplashes, shower inserts, floors, and also wall art and jewelry. Mosaic was the first medium that got me to focus and work hard to learn as much as possible and to become proficient. Still, I am sort of compulsively creative and I have tons of other materials I like to play with. Often, I'll take an art kit on vacation and come home with 20 new papercuts or felted ornaments or embroidered designs. I also experiment with mosaic and create small items between commissions. I'm part of a group of Pacific NW mosaic artists, and we occasionally show our work together. While I normally don't make artwork that isn't commissioned, these exhibits push me to stretch and make ambitious mosaic work that expresses my own ideas, whereas my commissions are all made for other people and must fit into specific parameters. Unsold work from these exhibits will also make their way into this shop now and then. Thank you for supporting creatives!
