I saved this small piece of Ash from the fire, only to almost set it on fire. The outcome is much better than if I had actually set it on fire.. From bottom to rim the interior is just over 2 inches deep. The hollowed out lid adds about a half inch. Once finished with the design I added a few coats of natural and food safe Walnut oil, then coated it with a couple layers of organic and food safe beeswax/carnauba wax. The tight fitting lid makes this a very water resistant little box.
