About this Product
Final Consonant Deletion is a phonological process (impairment) that is a common treatment focus for speech-language pathologists. I often found resources online to use in my sessions, but with too few words. Many times we are demonstrating final sounds in multiple sessions until the child (or other client) becomes more aware of the error of omitting the final sound. So I developed my own resource of 22 pages with all the words for which I could gather related pictures.
The progression of initial sounds is in line with the general progression of English phonemes so that those smaller cuties will not have to struggle with later developing sounds while learning about final consonants!
I purposefully left out final /m/ and /n/ after the short "a" vowel as these sounds specifically alter the sound of "a" and make it more nasal, while the highlight of final consonant deletion should be on only the final sound changing. My personal preference.
Only sets of 3 or more comparative words are included. And there are plenty of additional words; I just was unable to locate a copyright-free picture to use for other words.
Each page is able to be folded in half in case the client is easily frustrated or overstimulated.
And in case it isn't obvious, if a line is missing the first picture, then it is a continuation of the previous line.
I hope this is as helpful to others as it is to me :)
