I am sharing the simplest methods to construct a bag and straps!
All of my itssewsally patterns are written as tutorials, that means I TEACH you how to make my "Snappy Tote" with 4 pages of 2 columns of clear directions with lots of diagrams.
ONLY 4 PIECES to cut including the straps!
NO complicated side pieces or bottom piece to add, pin, or stitch, including the simplest boxed bottom ever! A great project to use up fabric from your stash, or even thrift store sheets!

Fast and Simple to make!
They are washable, durable, folding them up and snapping them into a neat & tidy little 5.5"x7" package,
When you unfold them, the bottom pops out nice and flat!
The stiff & sturdy bottom is permanently secured into the bag bottom! (No cardboard bottoms to disintegrate in the wash or "too thin" separate bottom piece to get lost)!
For this pattern you only need:
A regular straight stitch sewing machine
You can really use any washable fabric, use fabric from your stash, cotton yardage, or recycle thrift store sheets for lightweight totes, use home decorating material or denim for a sturdier heavyweight tote.
2 snaps or Velcro
ultra-firm interfacing or plastic sheets
Fabric scissors & a ruler OR rotary cutter & mat
Please don’t use plastic bags! RECYCLE-REUSE- BE THRIFTY- BE GREEN! and help our planet too! I've seen the horrible death by starvation suffered by turtles eating plastic bags! (plastic bags look like the jellyfish turtles eat)!
