About this Product
A fruit bowl that is also a statement centerpiece. It looks great sitting on the counter, full of apples, reminding you to eat an apple a day.
Right now, I have five of these fruit bowls available. Two are the pear color - a vibrant light yellow. Two are a pale coral or poppy color. One is teal. Please specify in the note section when ordering which color you would like. These five are each about 8.5 inches in diameter and about 2.5 inches tall.
If you're interested in a fruit bowl, but prefer a different color or one that is larger (up to twelve inches diameter), please don't hesitate to ask. Glad to take a custom order on these. I just love making them and usually have a few in process at any given time.
thank you very much for looking.

Meet the Maker
Many years ago, I first started with clay. It has been a long, on and off again journey. Sometimes the off part of the journey lasted a long time. At some point over all those years, I made it a personal goal to stock my home with plates, mugs, bowls, vases, salt cellars, pitchers, doorstops, etc. that I have made. It is a delight to use my creations day in and day out. I am hopeful that there are people out there who would also welcome a handmade item or two to use and enjoy throughout daily life.
My pieces are all handmade, small batch creations intended to be functional as well as beautiful. I’m constantly learning. Constantly improving my skills. Constantly trying out new techniques. Just continuing to work with the clay. Please enjoy these pieces in your everyday life. To that end, all of the glazes are made to be safe for use with food and you can put them in the dishwasher, microwave and oven.
If you see something you like, but would like a different color, size or set, please reach out and let me know. I’d be glad to work with you.

How it’s Made
I throw these on the wheel and, once they have dried to leather hard (dry enough to manipulate, but not so dry that they'll crack), I use all sorts of different items to cut holes into the bowl. Lately, I've been using the end of cake decorating tips. We have a lot of them and we don't decorate cakes any longer.... So ... repurposing. Then I carve the foot. You'll see on the melon colored one, I experimented with a different shape to the foot, with a few holes along the base. I have to sand the piece carefully and outside to smooth away any bits or rough edges left from creating the holes. then it's all about bisque firing, glazing and glaze firing. I like to glaze these in one solid color. I find that the shape itself has so much dynamism to it that, I find, one color glaze, allows the form to stand out. hope you enjoy. any questions, please don't hesitate to message me. thanks for looking.
Shop Policies
Processing: I do my best to ship your pieces as soon as possible, but no later than within 2-3 days of the order.
Please understand that all sales are final.
As for the care of your piece, the glazes are all food safe. These can be used in the dishwasher, the microwave, and the oven. As with all ceramics, please avoid sharp changes in temperature. Avoid taking something from a cold refrigerator and putting it directly into a hot oven. Pottery typically doesn’t handle that type of sharp change in temperature well…..
Shipping to the continental US is included. If you’re looking for shipping outside the continental US, please contact me. Glad to cooperate! Thank you.
