The Mississippi Gulf Coast is my home and where I own a marine canvas shop. We fabricate canvas items (covers, tops, cushions, etc.) for boats. Our slow season is in the winter. To keep everybody busy and working during this time, we sew fun stuff! (I call it recreational sewing.) We make floating pillows and bags using left-over scraps from jobs and our favorite fabrics and colors…and you don't have to own a boat to enjoy them!
I learned to sail on a lake in Oklahoma, and eventually sailed a small boat to St. Thomas in the Virgin Island where I worked for a sailmaker. I returned to the Mississippi Gulf Coast to open my own business. I am proud to say I earned the Master Fabric Craftsman (MFC) Professional Certification from the Industrial Fabric Association International.
My husband, Jessie, and I live aboard our 38’ trawler, and when we can, cruise the Gulf Coast and rivers.
