Welcome to SewFancybyJulie. I live in a small town in South Dakota, and have lived, with my husband for 25 years. After his discharge from the Air Force in 1975, we returned to our home state of Michigan. How did I get to South Dakota, he took a job transfer and here I am and loving it.
I have always sewn my own clothing, as well as, for my children and grandchildren. After retiring, I discovered machine embroidery. I love every minute of what I do. I do it to offer prospective buyers options they can't find in the big box stores.
I do items for the kitchen, pot holders, table runners, embroidered kitchen towels, and so much more. I am a one woman show. I do all the product making, product listing and mailing myself. It's a lot of work, but you never work a day in your life if you love what you do. I love what I do.

Each mug rug is made of 100% cotton fabric that has been preshrunk. The nutcrackers are set on a dark red background on a diagonal, creating visual interest. The other half of the front diagonal in a green, red and white stripe fabric adding a festive feel of the season. Polyester batting is placed between the front and the back.They are pieces by machine embroidery. They measure 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches. How it’s Made
The first thing I do is make my fabric choices and coordinating threads. I cut all my own fabric. I don't have any little elves to help me.
Next I take it to the sewing or embroidery machine and begin putting the mug rug together following all the steps in the instructions.
Voile a finished mug rug.
My fabrics don't match the product because I forget to take pictures at the time I making the item. This is just an example of the process.
