We have taken these beautiful knotty end pieces and created a very unusual wood shelf. This is perfect for a bathroom for small candles, plants, crystals, or pretty cosmetics. This shelf would also be lovely in any room needing a bit of extra storage as well as a striking piece of art, making this a very functional work of art.

Our three-dimensional art is created from naked and knotty wood rare fragments. We choose each piece for its unique look, sifting through to find the ones that speak to us to turn into our very special art form.
We receive shipments of cut-offs from our local shop to make biochar to enrich our soil. We sort each shipment, searching out these special nuggets of beauty. Some shipments we don’t find any, others we get lucky and find 8-10. It is always a treasure hunt and that is the highlight of our week. We then take them to our shop and cut them down to sizes we can use. We sand them and sort the wood by size.
When we are ready to create, we go through the sorted wood, looking for just the right piece that will inspire and excite us for our next artwork. We do not mass-produce our artwork.
While we might create the same basic “shape or design”, each artwork will be different because no two pieces of wood are the same. We happen to think that each piece of wood is an artwork in and of itself. We try to add a shelf to each art piece to add functionality.
We think our artwork is a great addition to any home looking for a special piece to bring joy to your heart, make you smile, and make you appreciate your home even more. Doug and Kelly have been working together for most of their married life. They owed a few restaurants together then ran a concrete staining business. Now they are retired in East Texas and making this beautiful wood art together.

Our “Naked and Knotty Wood” is a unique art medium that is not seen anywhere else. We have rescued each piece of wood and saved them for just the right inspiration to create something special for your home.
Every piece of wood Is different from the next, ready for us to combine and join them in a way that brings joy, nurtures the soul, and transforms your personal space into a place of peace and creativity. If you love trees and the outdoors, our art is a way to remind you of those experiences and give you a touchpoint in your home. Where do we get this special wood?: Every piece that we sell is an authentic reclaimed piece of wood. The wood we use is cutoffs and castoffs from Texas woodworking shops that cannot use this beautiful “imperfect” wood. The wood itself comes from all over the world. It has been sent to our farm to become biochar to improve our pastures for our honey bees and other pollinators. We have been pulling it out and saving it for something special and we have finally had the vision of what these pieces of wood needed to become. Naked and Knotty Wood Art!
Wood Finish: Natural – This wood is kiln-dried and left raw so that the natural beauty will shine through. It is not sealed, so it is not for outdoor use.
Easy Installation: We have pre-installed the hardware for your pieces. The nails needed for your wall are not included.
SPECIAL NOTICE: DUE TO ONGOING WAR IN UKRAINE, The wood we use for our naked and knotty wood is beech and it comes from Europe. Because of the war, we are not getting any new shipments. We are a new shop and have been collecting this wood for a while and have a collection of it. But once it is gone, we will be unable to make any new pieces until new shipments of Beechwood is resumed.

We have different sizes, but they are not exactly the same, so please feel free to look at all of our listings for your perfect piece. Each piece is made and listed separately depending on what we are inspired to create. Each photo is exactly what you will get. We do not mass produce our art.
Shipping and Processing Time: We try and get all of our orders out within 4-6 business days, however, we tell our customers to plan on 6-8 business days. This does not include any shipping/transit time. Shipping takes at least an additional 3-5 days. Expedited shipping is currently unavailable.

We pay to have UPS package our large art pieces themselves to ensure your package arrives safely. Since we live in the country, we only go into the city once a week for mailing.
Shipping time may be longer due to weather, trucking issues, and post office issues. These delays cannot be anticipated and are a current fact of life.
Once your item is shipped, you will receive an email confirmation containing a tracking number for your package.
NOTE: We only ship within the continental USA. Please contact us before ordering if shipping to AK or HI as free shipping will NOT apply to orders going to AK or HI. To give you a good estimate we need your shipping address and the item you're looking to purchase. The shipping charge can vary depending on location, but we give you a $30 free shipping credit, so you don't have to pay the full amount. We'll send you a custom listing for the extra charge.
Once your item is shipped, you will receive an email confirmation containing a tracking number for your package.
Cancellations: You may cancel your order within 12 hours of order without penalty. If you cancel after a shipping label is made but before the item is shipped, there is a 25% restocking fee. Once your item has shipped, there is no cancellation allowed.
Return Policy: Due to the nature of handmade items, all sales are final and non-refundable. If there is an issue with your purchase, please contact us so we can work with you to find a solution. If you received an incorrect or damaged item, please send me a message within 48 hours of delivery. You must attach a photo of the item so we can file an insurance claim with the shipper for you. If no photo is provided, we cannot help you. Please take a photo and contact me within 48 hours so we can work with you on a solution. If your tracking number shows that your item was delivered but you have not received it, please contact your local post office. We are not responsible for stolen, delayed, or lost items. We will be happy to help you in any way possible. Insurance is included in all transactions.
