Primitive Crow Pie was so much fun to make. I have been wanting to make one for some time. A 9 inch pie pan was used in this piece. The crust is muslin that has been stained, to look like fresh baked pie. The slits in the pie crust are pieces of wool that is appliqued on. The crows are muslin that have been painted, stained, and sanded for that primitive look. Then I attached some Spanish moss, for nests beneath the crows and added the "Crow Pie" hang tag.
The crows do overlap the edge which makes it about 14 inches wide. I do have one crow sitting higher than the others for some whimsy. It has cinnamon in the staining process, and I will spray it again with my cinnamon spray before shipping. You can also add a bottle of room spray from the drop-down menu to keep that cinnamon fragrance.
