About this Product
My uniquely designed no drip hummingbird feeder is loved by humans and hummers alike. Each hummingbird feeder is hand blown using the most durable glass available. With simple proper care, this feeder will last for generations.
For this model I begin with extra thick borosilicate("Pyrex") tubing,Then using pure silver and drops of clear glass I create the classic hobnail design. The flower and down stem are reinforced with ruby glass.
Each feeder comes with a 2-3 inch handmade copper S hook for hanging, instructions for use, additional tips, a simple nectar recipe, a short artist bio and Certificate of Authenticity.
Complimentary gift presentation with every feeder includes festive tissue and an organza gold floral bag. Whether you are purchasing for yourself or a loved one, these hummingbird feeders are a gift to be treasured.
If you are purchasing as a gift, I would be happy to include a lovely handmade card with a personal sentiment from you to your gift recipient. Please provide your message in the “note to seller” at checkout.
Filling your feeder:
Slowly pour nectar through the funnel shaped flower opening. For easy filling I recommend using a liquid measuring cup. You can even fill this feeder while it is hanging.
Cleaning your feeder:
This feeder is designed to minimize bacterial/fungus growth, meaning less maintenance than conventional hummingbird feeders. Pour in water through the funnel opening. Fill it up. When you turn the feeder upside down to drain it, rock in a gentle circular motion. This will help increase the pressure of water coming out and quickly dislodge any debris from inside.
If debris is stuck to the inner wall of the feeder, pour in a couple teaspoons of salt and a couple teaspoons of ice cold water. Swish the mixture around to gently remove the stubborn stuck debris. Then rinse the feeder thoroughly to remove the salt and debris, as described above. (Mold, if it is present, will not survive a salt rinse). An added step (in a most extreme case of stuck debris), submerge your feeder in warm salt water for a couple hours. Then do the salt rinse as described above.
Size Matters:
No drip means no waste. That's just one benefit. Your birds will enjoy all the freshest nectar from this glass container, untainted by plastic parts. Each feeder is about 4in X 4in at the bulb, about 6in. in height and holds 8-10 ounces of fresh nectar.
Introducing a New Feeder:
The easiest way to introduce a new feeder is to replace an established feeder. Once your hummers have accepted this new source of nectar, you can move the new feeder to another location and your birds will seek it.
If you're just starting out, with no established hummer traffic, be patient. Fill your new feeder part way and keep the nectar fresh. Face the flower opening out toward your yard. Hummers are very habit oriented. In a most extreme case, it can take a couple months for hummingbirds to accept a new nectar source.
Hanging Recommendation:
It is ideal to hang your feeder from the eves of your house or porch. Or from a wall hanging bracket.

The feeder pictured in these photos is a very sweet dedication to his beautiful late wife Tina, who was a hummingbird lover and truly an angel on Earth.

A Little About the Artist:
I have lived my life obsessed with hummingbirds and worked for 25+ years as a glass artist. I've spent my entire adult life stalking hummingbirds, researching their habits and all of the wonders and challenges of nature that affect the use of my hummingbird feeders in particular.
To me, and I think you will agree, every hummingbird is a living breathing jewel, an extraordinary expression of the creator's art. It is in this spirit that I live and create art.
My connection with hummingbirds, like so many people I talk with, is actually sweet memories of my Grammy and annual visits with my family to her home in Maine when I was a kid. She had hummingbird feeders just outside of her kitchen window, where her hummers would endlessly compete for Grammy's sweet nectar. Whether we were inside the house, watching Grammy make her fresh homemade buttermilk biscuits (a beloved daily activity), listening to 8tracks of Johnny Cash, or out in the yard taking turns riding with Grampy on his big tractor and ringing their giant bell (which I always thought could be the liberty bell) in the front yard, those hummingbirds never failed to entertain me and my Grammy LOVED them so much. I think of her every time I see a hummingbird in my yard. In that way, she will always be with us (I couldn't possibly duplicate her biscuits).
My unique design has been well received for many years by hummingbirds and humans alike, from Alaska to Puerto Rico and from Nova Scotia to Southern California to Central America.
My feeders are built to last. This is the legacy I leave for my children's children. As my family celebrates our connection with Grammy through hummingbirds. We can now embrace that connection further by hanging my hummingbird feeders, the same ones I hang in my own yard, generation after generation.
Please don't hesitate to contact me directly if you have any questions or concerns.
