Well hello there! My name is Kris and I am the owner & creator of Purple Dragonfly Soaps n’ Suds! I am new to the beauty products world, but I am so excited to be here! My little shop is like a dream come true for me and has become my solution to retirement to the Washington coast with my fella and our little rescue doggo! I am a old Hippie dog mom at heart, my soul is most happy surrounded by nature, (and dogs) especially at the Washington coast! My little shop’s specialty is melt & pour soaps, but I also have a wide variety of products to make you feel amazing and pampered (and tell me who doesn’t love to be pampered!!). Lotions, scrubs, bath bombs, shaving soaps and after shave creams, (and more!) are all hand made with quality ingredients and lots of love! I can’t wait to get to know you all, and really hope you will join me on this journey! And guess what?? you’re helping me reach my goal of being a hippie soap maker at the beach with every purchase you make, and I thank you all! So I ask you…GOT SOAP???
Shop Policies
Processing Time: As well as running my little shop, I also work full time outside my home as a caregiver. I do almost all my production on the weekends, and list products available for the upcoming week. Sometimes, it may take a bit longer to fill an order. Most orders can be filled in 1-3 days, but on occasion it may take 3-5 days (especially if its a special request). It is my promise to you, that I will always be transparent and honest if it will take longer than usual to fulfill your order.
Satisfaction Guaranteed: I take a lot of pride in the creating of the products in my shop, and want you always to be happy with your purchases. Sometimes, things happen and a product just isn’t what you imagined it was. If that ever happens, I will do my very best to work with you to make sure you are 100% satisfied. Communication is key!
FAQs: Whatcha Wanna Know?
Q: What kind of soap do you make? A: I make Melt & Pour soaps. My soap bases are premade with quality ingredients and are animal cruelty free. I use a honey base, and an oatmeal base for my soaps to leave your skin feeling moisturized and soft.
Q: What kind of scents do you use? A: I only use Fragrance Oils, vs Essential Oils. Fragrance oils are a synthetic product that hold their scent much better in soap, they are much less expensive, and there is a much bigger variety of scents available.
Q; Why doesn’t my soap bar have huge bubbly lather, like commercial soaps? A: Handcrafted soap differs greatly from store bought, mass produced soap. My soaps have a thick creamy lather, rather than huge bubbles (which are made with extra chemicals). They leave your skin feeling clean & moisturized, without that “filmy” feeling you get with commercial bars.
Q: Why can’t I use your sugar scrubs on my face? A: Well, technically you CAN, you just shouldn’t do it daily. Sugar scrubs are very exfoliating and the sugar granules can cause micro-tears in your skin, which can lead to break outs and even infections! My scrubs are more like a “body polish” meant to be used on the body: hands & feet, legs, hands, or anywhere your skin is dry.
Q: What’s the difference between a Bath Bomb and a Shower Steamer? A: Good question, and no they are not interchangeable! My bath bombs are made with sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, luxurious oils, and come in just about any fragrance you can think of. They go directly into your bath to give you a wonderful relaxing and moisturizing bath, Shower steamers are made with similar ingredients but also include menthol crystals to give you an aromatherapy experience in your own shower. Fragrances are more limited due to the menthol crystals. The most popular scents for shower steamers are eucalyptus, spearmint, lavender, bergamot, and piney.
