Meet the Maker

My name is Julie Valnes and I’m the owner of Oh That Is Cute! Studios home of the original Pum-Pin-Cushion. I’ve been painting and crafting as long as I can remember. I started sewing small projects around my house like curtains, baby blankets and even a few scrub tops. I made my first Pum-Pin-Cushion by accident. I wanted to make myself a pincushion but it was a little like Goldy Locks each one seamed to small. I made 3 before I found the right size and then a lightbulb went off! Why not stack them together. I stacked them up added the wrist band to keep them together and the Pum-Pin-Cushion was born. I was making one with beehives on it and I thought well why not make it look like a beehive so the large 5 stack was born which includes the jumbo and the mini. I started by making a bunch and giving them to the ladies at a church group who were sewing blanket for the homeless. They loved them and I thought why not make a little business. Since then I’ve added sewing machine covers, zipper pouches and tote bags.I work really hard at making a great product so when you open the package you’ll want to say oh that is cute!
