About this Product
This beautifully soft fingering weight yarn is a blend: 50% alpaca, 30% merino, 20% silk. It has been hand-dyed in tones of teals and whites.
Note: Colors of the actual product can vary slightly from the colors shown on your monitor. I try my best to take accurate pictures, but, y'know, technology.
Size: 400 yds/100 g per skein. One skein should be enough to make a decent-sized scarf or cowl, many different types or patterns of shawls, or a pair of adult medium socks, although your mileage may vary.
Care: Handwash gently in lukewarm soapy water. Lay flat to dry. This is not superwash! This yarn will felt if not handled with care! Ask me how I know...
I take great care in ensuring that my yarns are colorfast and that they are well-rinsed before shipping out, but it's possible to experience a little bit of bleeding during the first few washings as excess dye is rinsed out of the yarn. This can be influenced by the colors used (red and blue are common culprits) and by the hardness and temperature of your washing water (softened cold water is better). If the bleeding is excessive or persists after more than a few washings, let me know.
Dyeing Process: All my yarns are commercially-milled and hand-dyed by me in my tiny kitchen using acid dyes. My studio (okay, apartment, let's not get too cute here) is smoke-free, dog-free and I use fragrance-free detergents in my processing. I do have one cat and although he's a silent partner, I can't guarantee that my products will be dander-free for folks who are allergic to cats. Feel free to convo me if you'd like more information.
