*Copper naturally will continue to oxidize, darkening over time. This will give the pendant a more antique look as it ages. If you prefer a bright copper, you can use a paste of white vinegar and baking soda buffed onto the metal to keep it shiny and new. But please be careful, as not all crystals can handle vinegar!

Is found naturally throughout most of the world. It forms when a silica-rich chemical combination, along with some ferric iron, mixes together. You now have purple quartz (aka amethyst). And don't worry, this radiation goes away, and your amethyst stone is 100% safe to touch.
Trapiche Amethyst Geology:
Forms only where heated waters meet host rocks which contain carbon compounds. The chemicals combine, and then a type of zoning occurs. This causes the crystals to form along only the smooth surfaces of the host rock. Zoning is what leads to the spiral-like equivalent growth seen in trapiche gemstones.

Meet the Maker
Have you ever been fooled by a stone's trade name? My first crystal sphere was also my first experience with that conundrum. With the name Peruvian Turquoise, I thought I had come across a new type of turquoise that I hadn't seen before. After making the purchase, I did some research and discovered that this is actually a form of chrysocolla from Peru that got it's trade name simply due to it's similar appearance to genuine turquoise.
Since then, I have educated myself and vowed to always know what I am buying before I buy it. I now know how to tell the difference between fake/dyed stones, resin, glass, and stones sold under another name. Then, once I started my business, I vowed to never sell a stone under false pretenses or without knowing the true identity of the stone I was advertising.
When you purchase a piece from CroChels, you can rest assured that the research has been done and you are being sold a stone that has been tested in many ways to verify it's identity.
