About this Product
Who among us has not watched, and been intrigued by, a movie or TV program about castles, kings, knights, and dragons? What child could resist playing with a toy set that let their imagination run wild with playing in a medieval castle situation? I had so much fun making this set, I can only imagine how much fun children will have playing with it. There are over 50 pieces in this set, enough to keep children busy for hours at a time. The castle is constructed so that it can be taken apart and stored in a much smaller space than it would take if left together. The knights can either ride the horses or stand on their own.• The castle front and back measure approximately 9” high by 7” wide and ½” thick (not counting the ledges that hold the platform)
• There is a platform that goes between the two parts of the castle entrance, and it measures about 6” by 6” by ½” thick
• A stairway that leads to the platform, or allows people to see over the castle walls is 4 3/8” long by 2 7/8” by 1 ½”
• The two flags that can be flown from the top of the castle are 4 3/16” high, 2 ¼” long, and ½” thick
• There are 9 castle wall sections that can be arranged in any way the child wishes. They are each 6 7/8” x 6” by 1/2” thick
• 22 connectors hold the castle entrance and sides up in place
• There are 2 trees to add to the scenery, and they are 7 ½” high by 4 ½” wide and 1 ½” thick
• The 2 horses can stand by themselves, or can be mounted by the knights. The horses are 6 ½” long, 5” high, and 1 ¾” wide
• The knights can stand on the ground or ride a horse, Each knight is 5 ¾” high, 3 ¼” wide, and ¾” thick
• The 2 dragons can also be taken apart to store is a smaller space. One dragon is 9 ½” long, 4 7/8” high, and 6 7/8” wide the other is 6 ¾” long, 6” high, and 5 ½” wide
• The 6 foot soldiers are identical and each is 5 3/8” high, 2 7/8” wide and ¾” thick
• The king is 5 ½” tall, 2 7/8” wide, and ¾” thick
• The queen measures 5 3/8” tall, 2 1/2” wide, and ¾” thick
• Every castle needs a princess, and she is 5 3/8” tall, 2 3/8” wide and ¾” thick
• The wizard (every castle needs a wizard, doesn’t it?) is 5 3/8” tall, 2 ¾” wide, and ¾” thick
• The castle walls are made from solid poplar and have been spray-painted gray
• The horses are made from sapele (a wood from the mahogany family), and finished with a child-safe oil
• The people are all made from oak, finished with polyurethane

Meet the Maker
I am a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, and have an MBA with a marketing concentration. I worked in retail management, then outside sales in the HVAC and refrigeration industry. I drove a limo for a year, then went to work at a large for-profit university. I worked as an admissions officer, then moved into student finance. I was also an adjunct faculty member, teaching courses in marketing. I retired in January 2020 and now devote as many hours as I wish per week to my woodworking business.
My wife of 50 years and I live in a rural area about 50 miles southwest of Chicago. Our two grandchildren live in Georgia so we do not see them as often as we would like. Woodworking began as a hobby, then I started selling at local craft shows in this area area and later moved to online sales. I enjoy making wooden toys and home decor items and have shipped over 1,000 orders all over the U.S. and even as far away as Australia. All my products are made from sustainable hardwoods such as poplar, oak, maple, and walnut which I purchase locally.
