Tundra Buttons

Creating: a way of life
Plover,
Thank you for stopping by Tundra Buttons. Each bag is proudly made exclusively by me in my Plover, Wisconsin sewing studio. I am a maker and mom and nurse. Sewing is my passion and after years of practice, I've started sharing some of my makings with others. Every bag is lovingly handmade, right down to the button. I guess you can say my home is my making kingdom. I use trees and branches from the back woods to cut buttons. I have a small kiln in my garage for making ceramic buttons. In the basement I have loads of canvas and upholstery fabrics for sewing. After an impressive day of being mom or being a nurse, I can often be found unwinding at my sewing machine or small drill for button holes or throwing a slab of clay. Art has always been a huge part of my life. I grew up in a small business and am beyond thankful that my parents taught me so many ways to live a good life, Dad a woodworker and Mom a sewer. I happily carry on the tradition of the family business with my young son by jokingly telling him (he's 4) as I sweep my hand across a pile of bags "one day son, this will all be yours!" But seriously, I do hope you enjoy your time visiting Tundra Buttons. Be well and enjoy your days on this planet we share.
